Bharat is a seasoned corporate lawyer with 2 (two) decades experience. Bharat is enrolled as an Advocate, Solicitor (Bombay Incorporated Law Society) and an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India.

Bharat is internationally recognized as a leading M&A lawyer in India by esteemed ranking agencies such as Legal 500. Bharat’s expertise encompasses amongst other mergers and acquisitions (listed and unlisted space), private equity, corporate restructuring, foreign direct investment, overseas direct investment, competition regime, securities laws etc. Bharat has significant experience in big ticket transactions upwards of a billion USD.

Bharat also offers strategic advice on commercial disputes. Bharat is actively involved in providing advice to high-net-worth families in the private client space.

  • Advised Tata Group companies in their consortium pact with Airbus where the deal was valued at USD 3 billion.
  • Advised Altran SA in their USD 2.2 billion acquisition of Aricent.
  • Advised Mytrah Energy in their proposed sale of all their wind and solar assets for proposed deal value – proposed (USD 2 billion).
  • Advised Leighton India in their divestment (USD 150 million) to Welspun India.
  • De listing of FCI OEN Connectors Limited.
  • Advised Tata Group namely Tata Power in relation to their reorganization (through the NCLT mechanism) of business activities in the defence space.
